Live-edge walnut coffee table, Original TimberView the work
My practice moves between art, craft and custom design, made by hand or machine and guided by materials.
For more than two decades, from Modern Bamboo to Original Timber Co., the work has started in the same place: the material. Bay Area trees, milled and finished into tables, objects and complete rooms.

The process
01Source
Fallen and removed Bay Area trees, within 50 miles of the Oakland workshop.
02Mill
Each slab selected and milled in-house, then air dried.
03Fabricate
Designed and built in wood and steel.
04Finish
Hand-finished with hard oil and wax to bring out the grain.

The aim was always more than reuse: make something exceptionally well, and make it worth keeping for generations.Anthony David Marschak
